PC540: Mystery Surrounds Plane Crash

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Array I don’t attend many Auburn basketball games. Let’s just say that most of the fans came dressed like old wooden seats. My Dad and I were discussing the state of Auburn basketball and came up with some observations that I’d like to share with you. Watching men in their 40’s and 50’s ride unicycles at a basketball game is something no one should be subjected to ever. I know it’s less than a week before Christmas but please fire them today.Taking this young, exciting team out of the equation, Auburn basketball is a joke. We talk about Mississippi State and Vanderbilt in football but we are just as bad when it comes to basketball.I admit I’m partly to blame. But if Jeff Lebo can keep this team together for four years they have a chance to be special. There should be a huge monument erected to Cliff Ellis. Why Lebo came to Auburn I’m still not sure. Lebo will eventually put a winning product on the court. It’s time for Auburn to match Lebo’s passion.

The world beneath our oceans is a mystery only just starting to be revealed but if the carnivorous sponge is any indication, it must be pretty weird down there.About 1700 researchers in 73 countries are now halfway through the Census of Marine Life, a mammoth 10-year project to catalogue the life-forms of our oceans - from the tiniest microbes to the biggest whales. In the past year alone researchers have added 78 new species of fish to their records. On expeditions to the depths of the South Atlantic and Southern oceans at least half the jellyfish, sponges and other specimens found had never been seen before. The 5mm-wide carnivorous sponge which engulfs other organisms with its mouth was one of those surprise finds - sponges are normally filter feeders.Census scientific steering committee vice-chairman Dr Victor A. The new data reveals for the first time those zones of the ocean where we have the highest leverage for conservation and thus smarter fishing.Australia is one of four remaining areas in the world which still has strong and diverse stocks of tuna - an important predator, the numbers of which have been dramatically decreased by commercial long-line fishing.Since the introduction 50 years ago of long-line fishing boats - which hook fish on lines up to 100km long - fish stocks have been affected.

This opening round win sets up a matchup with the Arizona Wilcats at approx. The Tops will then take a nice, long break until their Dec 29th home game against Kentucky State.More on the Zona tilt tomorrow.II. The Explorers ran away in overtime to remain a perfect 7-0.–at Wichita State 55, Miami-OH 46. Both of these teams need this win if they harbor at-large hopes come March. Bob Knight’s crew needs quality wins…ANY wins, actually. The Ark has won all the games that they are supposed to win.

On December 2nd, 2005 I filed a petition with the Washington State Supreme Court in Olympia Washington in the Temple of Justice asking for re-instatement to practice to give me legal authortiy to represent class members in the class action lawsuit against Bush, Cheney, et al.I had discontinued paying bar dues in 2002 and was suspended from practice until I paid up bar dues with penalties. I was told to pay up ,000.00 in dues and penalties plus meet outstanding CLE requirements for re-instatement.Since I ask no attorneys fees in this lawsuit but only costs of the lawsuit, I feel it is unjust and inequitable for the Bar to not allow me to prosecute the lawsuit in defense of the Constitution which I have taken a solemn oath to defend against all enemies both domestic and foreign.A copy of that petition is viewable on my website.Help me to straighten up the fascist mess that our country is presently immersed in thanks to Bush, Cheney and their rogue companions.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…Lowlights from Days 4 and 5:Mike Huebsch thinks a good way to start an honest discussion about taxes is by offering the Senate Democrats an opportunity to accept a proposal made up of nothing but AssGOP provisions. When that’s your opening gambit, it’s clear that you just want to spend the whole day posturing.Sen. Jauch and Rep. Kreuser land good blows in discussing the AssGOP’s dramatic cut of the Homestead credit. The Sheboygan package? The Dems offer a UW package that consists of a bunch of JFC provisions and the AssGOP tuition cap. Everyone’s on to it by now.Nurse Judy asks Huebsch about those cuts to public television and radio, more of the last-minute fun the AssGOP crammed into the budget to make the numbers work. You know, Mike, at some point you’re either going to have to cut bait on all those BS provisions in your budget (public tv/radio, the UW law school cut, homestead credit, I could go on but you get the point), or you’re actually going to have to defend them.

If you do, you’re lucky.I have lots of dreams and lots of things I love, but because I don’t have a single aim the charge to live my dream has always made me feel…kind of…well…bad.Which is where Rachel’s’ post comes to play. It seems so simple, clear and totally do-able….but then most good ideas are that way.So here, in no particular order are my 5 different lives and how I’m living them all at the same time.1 chef I love cooking. I love getting up early and weeding a garden. I grow my own herbs (a must for someone who really loves cooking) and I have a little cherry tomato plant.3 Interior Designer Every year the ear doctor and I go to the parade of homes. I love to notice the details of each house, which hardwood the designer chose to go with, which shade of paint looks better at which time of the day. I’ve always loved books. Some of my best friends are my friends because of our shared literary love.5 Talk Show Host Except, I’d love to be a little different than your average talk show host. I’d love to interview normal people. I love meeting people and getting to know them. I’m not really good at talking about myself, but I love to hear about other people. In my current life I love to get to know people.

All that should change following their performance on Sunday at McCarren, I should listen to this album once a day if only to bring a smile to my face while listening!Anyway, McCarren Park Pool was packed out for Sunday’s pool party, it was so packed in fact that leaving midway through the final act’s set the pool was still surrounded by a line several thousand people long despite organizers announcements that they were unlikely to get in to the pool. It was craziness, but it was also crazy fun for the people that did get in.I spent the first hour of the day there soaking up the scene and allowing whatever opening act was on to serve a mere background music to my hunt for ice cream and the best ways to cool down in the pool. With my beer in hand we waded around the people frolicking about in the pool and made our way to the front to watch the rest of the band’s set.And what a set it was!

With the thermometer here in the not so deep south threatening triple digits for the next three days, I thought it was time for another edition of the ever popular dress series. This particular dress certainly qualifies as it is what I regard as my Christmas dress. I ended up buying this dress along with a fuschia prom dress which I will feature later. The dress is admittedly a different style from some of my prom dresses. No gloves or fancy jewelry are needed with this frock although I do enjoy the matching lipstick an blush. Finally, while maybe not appropriate for a more formal outing, the dress is perfect for holidays and semi formals.

The vast majority of children given a choice between two identical food items are more likely to say the one in a McDonald’s wrapper tastes better. This is why I’m going into advertising.

At twenty-five to one in the morning, the Hot Nuts shop, complete with two staff, is still open on Green Lanes. So, mind you, is Shamuss Abbas, for your late or early aubergines, but over the road at the Turkish Food Market there is merely a man in a cheap gold watch ringing up my unnecessary purchases, and no young, cute, Turkish lad.No-one quite meets my eye as I pay for what may or may not be 100% pure pomegranate juice.
